Mr. Halström's recovery for the victim of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) bicycle accident, in 2003, of a $24,000,000 jury verdict and judgment (over $28 million in 2010 dollars), affirmed by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, is the largest amount ever collected by an individual in Massachusetts. He has also represented many victims of sexual abuse, including those abused by Catholic Priests. In one of their most recent cases, Mr. Halström and his firm recovered the largest settlement recorded in Massachusetts, $6 Million in Worcester, in a case involving medical malpractice causing birth trauma. In two recent medical negligence claims involving cystic fibrosis, he collected $1.7 million in 2003, for Newton parents of a cystic fibrosis child and in 2009, he collected $3 million for a Worcester 37 year-old woman (and her family) whose physician failed to diagnose her for many years with a variant of cystic fibrosis.
